Workers Credit Union's Johan Romero-Luna Wins Worcester Business Journal's 40 Under 40
Workers Credit Union is pleased to announce AVP, Area Manager Johan Romero-Luna has received the Worcester Business Journal’s prestigious “40 Under 40” Award.
“Johan has been an inspiration not only to his team but to the entire Credit Union. He quickly became known as a visionary in the development of the Workers Way, a customer-centric approach to financial wellness,” said Doug Petersen, president and CEO at Workers. “We couldn’t be prouder of the work Johan has done to positively change the lives of our members.”
Johan is humble about his work within the credit union, saying “I love helping our richly diverse community achieve their American dream. It reminds me of my own journey, and how fortunate I am to have benefitted from the guidance of others.”
Johan arrived in the United States from the Dominican Republic in 2010 with his wife and young daughter. In August 2010, he began his career in financial services, growing his expertise and building his community along the way. Johan joined Workers in 2019 to help lead a newly formed team to develop the Workers Way. In February 2020, the group of Financial Wellness Coaches opened Workers PlanItTM Worcester, in the Trolley Yard Plaza, a new style branch that encourages one-on-one financial coaching and customer engagement. Johan also oversees the recently opened PlanIt Hudson. He resides in Grafton with his wife and daughter.
